Eureka release winter dates for additional needs clubs & more!

Eureka logoEureka National Children’s Museum in Halifax have released dates of their up coming holiday and Saturday Clubs exclusively for children with additional needs. Saturday clubs for children with Down Syndrome are taking place on 23rd, 30th November & 7th December. Book your places early to avoid disappointment – they are very limited!

Early Years Autism Club

7, 14, 21 September 2013

This set of 3 FREE Saturday Clubs are for families of Autistic children up to the age of 5. Each session runs from 10-12 and the family can take part in fun craft and games activities, as well as supported visits with trained staff to different areas of the museum each week. These clubs are possible thanks to funding from Esmée Fairbairn. Call Trizia or Coral on 01422 330069 to book your place.

Superhero Weekend

Sat 21 and Sun 22 September 2013

Find out what it takes to be a life-saving, planet-rescuing superhero during the Superhero Weekend. Batman, Superman and Iron Man will descend on Eureka! for the weekend of 21 and 22 September to team up with the children and fight off the evil villain. Visitors can also meet everyday crime fighting heroes from the West Yorkshire police, whose officers will be at the museum providing backup.

Hearing Impaired Children’s Club

5, 19, 26 October 2013

This set of 3 FREE Saturday Clubs are for families of Hearing Impaired Children. Each session runs from 10-12 and the family can take part in fun craft and games activities, as well as supported visits with trained staff to different areas of the museum each week. Scooby Doo. Where are you?

Friday 25 October – Sunday 3 November 2013 (October Half term)

Join the Scooby Doo team to solve a series of mysteries. Over the October half term visitors must help the gang from Scooby Doo look for clues and solve the mystery of who – or what! – may be haunting the museum. Children can also help Velma, Shaggy, Daphne and Fred find the ever elusive Scooby Doo, who is hiding somewhere in the museum, before solving the mystery and unmasking the baddie.

Down Syndrome Children’s Club

Each session runs from 10-12 and the family can take part in fun craft and games activities, as well as supported visits with trained staff to different areas of the museum each week. Our Extra Pair of Hands will provide you with:

·         A trained member of the gallery staff dedicated to your family for 2 hours of your visit

·         Tailored suggestions for helping your whole family experience more of the aspects that they enjoy

·         Practical advice for making the most of your visit.

 

Try before you buy

You can enjoy two FREE Extra Pair of Hands sessions in a year. If you haven’t visited us before, and aren’t sure if you will enjoy it, don’t worry you can book your first Extra Pair of Hands session completely FREE. If you enjoy your visit, you can buy an Annual Pass (typically £10.95 per person, with carers going FREE) which will allow your family a second Extra Pair of Hands session FREE of charge. If you are already an Annual Pass holder you just need to ring and book the sessions.
