Roald Dahl Workshop Day with Dark Horse Theatre
Dark Horse Theatre have another opportunity during the half term period. We publicised Roald Dahl workshops for 11 – 18 yr olds, more on that HERE – but now an extra session for adults (18+) with learning disabilities has been added to the programme!
It is free of charge and takes place on Thursday 30th October at The Lawrence Batley Theatre from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Dark Horse announce flushbunking fun this October!
Dark Horse Theatre, based at the Lawrence Batley Theatre here in Huddersfield, are running Roald Dahl themed activities for young people in Kirklees with a learning disability during the October half term break. The activities are funded by KMC and free to participants – however unlike the advertised age range these sessions are only available to 11-18 year olds. ‘The Actor’s Studio’ – actor training for people aged 18+ with a learning disability.
Dark Horse Theatre has a few places remaining or the right candidates for ‘The Actor’s Studio’ – actor training for people aged 18+ with a learning disability.
Dark Horse are an Arts Council National Portfolio organisation and a national touring theatre company. They produce new work and also train actors with learning disabilities to work in their own productions and films and TV.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a highly regarded producing theatre company.
This vocational course will run at their base, The Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.45am to 3.00pm during term time from September 2014 to July 2015. Fees are just £30.00 per day.
Successful students enjoy working physically, and with other people and are able to show that they have a real enthusiasm for the job of acting. Candidates need also to either be independent travellers or working towards that goal.
