Huddersfield Marathon Runners do it for the DSA!

Huddersfield marathon runners Katie Sykes and Helen Care took part in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon, running for a cause close to all our hearts, the Down’s Syndrome Association. Katie’s son Harry has Down Syndrome and he and his friends were the reason behind this challenge. Katie said ‘The continuing support shown by the hospital and local groups after having the diagnosis has spurred me on to give something back in return for all we have received. I have never run a marathon, so the effort and dedication will hopefully mirror the effort and dedication of those now around us, to which I am eternally grateful.’

The weather in London was perfect for Team Harry who ran the 26.2 miles in our capital in the incredible time of 4 hours 59 minutes.

So far the total raised by Katie & Helen stands at over £8000, it’s not too late to donate to this fantastic cause and to congratulate both Katie and Helen for their incredible effort, just click the link below –

Katie would like to thank everyone for their support ….and cash!!

Well done Katie & Helen from all at HDSSG and of course Harry! X
