HDSSG – Sainsbury’s Charity Partner of The Year

Huddersfield Down Syndrome Support Group are thrilled to announce we have been voted Sainsbury’s Market Street Charity Partner Of The Year!

Our nomination came from HDSSG dad, Chris Scott, who works in the branch and who’s daughter Mia accesses our group. We reached the top 3 along with ‘The Huddersfield Town Foundation’ – a registered charity, based at HTAFC. The vision is to make a difference to the lives of children and young people living within the community. And also ‘One Good Turn’ – who help the local community by tackling poverty – 2 excellent local causes.

All 3 organisations were then invited along to store to ‘pitch’ to managers and staff.

We are very excited to be offered this opportunity to raise our profile, spread current information about Down Syndrome and hopefully raise a little money for our group along the way. Most of our donations are used to heavily subsidise private Speech & Language Therapy for our members aged 3 – 13 in our Chatterbox programme, but we still have time for fun stuff too! Regular hydrotherapy swimming sessions, day trips out and more!

So if you pop in to Market Street Sainsbury’s please do look out for us!
